| XTAR-EUR
ACHIEVES ORBIT, CURRENTLY UNDERGOING IOT |
| Along
with our partners Loral and HISDESAT, I am very happy to announce that
XTAR-EUR, which was launched February 12, has arrived at its final orbital
position of 29° East. The spacecraft's antennas have deployed
successfully and the satellite is now undergoing payload performance testing.
We anticipate the in orbit tests (IOT) will be completed by mid-March,
with the satellite being ready for service shortly thereafter.
The
completion of IOT is an important milestone for XTAR. It represents the
beginning of a new dimension in military satellite communications - dedicated
X-band capacity furnished by a privately owned enterprise. We are
looking forward to inaugurating service and providing critical support
for U.S. and Allied nations' military and security communications requirements.
XTAR-EUR
features on-board switching and multiple steerable beams. It carries
twelve 72-megahertz transponders, two global beams, one fixed beam over
Europe and four steerable spot beams. Coverage extends from eastern
Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean, across Europe, Africa and the Middle East
all the way to Singapore.
We
will be making capacity available to potential Government users for demonstrating
XTAR-EUR capabilities. Please contact us if you'd like more information. |

FIRST CUSTOMER
We
are delighted to welcome the Spanish Ministry of Defense (SMOD) as our
first customer on XTAR-EUR. The SMOD is leasing 238 MHz of capacity until
its primary satellite, SPAINSAT, enters services in the first quarter 2006,
after which we will provide back up capacity on XTAR-EUR.
